뭔가 했더니 얼마전에 방영(?)한 듯한 사우스 파크 에피소드였다.

사우스 파크가 뭔지는 알고는 있었지만 이제까지 한번도 본적은 없었다.
링크를 통해 한번 보니... ㅋㅋㅋ이거 완전 막장TV쇼인듯 ㅋㅋ
(주의 그림체가 무슨 애기들 만화처럼 되어있지만 내용은 거의 19금..뭐 유머땜에그런거지만=_=)

사람들이 인터넷을 하나의 "물체"로 생각한다는 것이 좀 안습인듯. (실제로 많은 초보 사용자들은 그렇게 생각할지도.ㅋ) 좀 영문스러운 표현이지만, "인터넷이 없다"라든지 "인터넷이 어디에 있나" 라든지.. 코믹하고 창의적으로 재미있게 만든 것 같다.

만약에 정말 인터넷이 사라진다면?

그나저나, 다시 한번 생각하게 된 것이,
만약에 정말 전세계의 인터넷이 갑자기 없어진다면 사람들은 어떻게 반응할까?

어쨌든, 지금은 한국의 초고속 광랜 인터넷에 적응되어 (게다가 매일 집에 있으니)' 항상 온라인'인게 너무나 당연하게 느껴진다.

실제로 너무(?) 적응이 되었는지, 몇달전 어느 한 주일 저녁에 교회에서 돌아 온 후2시간동안 인터넷이 안되어 발광했던 기억이... (결국 문제는 새로 들여온 맥아틔븨 였지만;;;)

지금 생각해도 인터넷이 없다면... 역시 좀 끔직할 듯 하다.
요즘 평균 컴퓨터 유저가 인터넷 없이 할 수 있는 작업이 얼마나 될까? 우리가 (특히 한국인) 너무 인터넷에 의존하게 된 것은 아닌지...
또한 (절대 그럴 리 없겠지만) 만약 인터넷이 정말 소모품이었다면, 과연 얼마나 많은 양의 소중한 인터넷을 우리가 소모한 것일까?


우리 모두 한번 되돌아 보는 시간이 필요할듯...

(뭐 일단 인강을 못 보게 되는 핑계가 생겨서 그건 좋......퍼퍼퍽)

Today as I was looking at site feed updates in iGoogle, I came across an interesting article from Engadget: "giant Linksys WiFi router is The Internet"

As I clicked on the link I discovered it was from an episode of South Park.

I sort of knew what South Park was but never had seen it. Watched the episode through the link... wow that was one funny show. LOL
(As most people should know, despite the childish style of art, the content is pretty much for adults. well it's all just for humor.. :P)

All that sarcasm of how people think the internet as a tangible "thing"(Many computer n00bs out there might as well reallly think that way :P) was kinda funny. How they say "There is no internet"or  "Where is the internet"...

But What If the Internet was really gone?

But then, it also made me think a bit:
If really internet was gone for the whole world, how would people react?

I still clearly remember what 'experience' we had in Kazakhstan, roughly a year go before we came out to Korea. Kazakhstan, the country known for the most expensive DSL connection in the world...

Anyways, now I am so used to Korea's superspeed internet connection, (and also because I stay home everyday) 'being online' feels so right.

Maybe I was adapted to it too much(?), I remember how I went like crazy because the internet wasn't working after I came home from church on Sunday evening... though later I figured out that newly installed MegaTV (an IPTV service in Korea) was the problem. :P

To think internet would disappear now... that would be just terrible.
Maybe we have come to rely on the internet too much. How much work can you get done nowadays without internet?
And if the world's internet really was something people "used up" (can never be true, so relax :D ), how much of it did we waste?


I hope we all take some time and look back.
